Replacement
To replace the procesor, proceed as follows:
1.
Complete step 1 through 8 in the previous subsection.
2.
Pull the lever arm on the socket outward until it is free, then lift the lever arm up.
3.
Locate pin 1 on the processor and pin 1 on the socket (see Figure 5-23, A).
4.
Lower the processor into the socket.
5.
Lower the heatsink onto the processor.
NOTE:
Avoid contact with the thermal grease
normally found between the heatsink and the
processor.
6.
Install the heatsink bail.
7.
Check the bus speed and clock multiplier jumpers on the motherboard (see
Appendix B for system board jumper settings). The jumper settings are silk-
screened onto the motherboard.
8.
Reattach the top and bottom halves of the chassis (see “Closing the System
Chassis” in Section 3).
9.
Replace the front bezel (see “Front Bezel”).
