Carefully slide the board the rest of the way out of the chassis, taking care
not to lift the board before it is free from its slot (see the following figures).
Removing the System Board

If the system board is being replaced, remove the CPU and the DIMMs from
the board and install them on the new board.
Replacing the System Board
If you remove the system board from the computer, take care in replacing the
board. Replacing the board requires the use of the chassis latch. Incorrect use of
the chassis latch can damage it.
Replace the system board as follows.

CAUTION
Take care in replacing the system board in the computer.
Incorrect use of the chassis latch can damage the latch. Use
the following procedure to use the latch correctly.
1.
Make sure the chassis latch is in the open position.
2.
Insert the system board rails into the chassis rail guides.
3.
Slide the system board partway into the system unit along the chassis rail
guide. Stop sliding the board when the outside edge of the system board
aligns with the outside edge of the chassis (see the following figures to see
the correct and incorrect alignment).
