INTERFACE CABLES
This section describes the connections of the interface cables.
Addition of Hard Disk
Your server supports a variety of SATA or SCSI hard disk drives installed in the system's hard disk
bay. Also your server provides high degree of disk fault tolerance and advanced disk array
management features through the use of RAID technology, if an optional RAID controller is
installed.
The connection required when a hard disk is added is described below.
IMPORTANT:
Your server can contain a maximum of three hard disk
drives. All the hard disk drives installed in your server must be the same
interface.
Installation of SCSI Disks
If SCSI hard disks are added, connect the cables as shown in the figure below (the number of
connectors varies depending on the type of the SCSI cable). Install the hard disks in the order of
SCSI ID0, ID1, and ID2 from the top to the bottom. Connect the connector nearest to the last
interface cable to the hard disk of SCSI ID0, the next connector to the hard disk of SCSI ID1, the
third connector to the hard disk of SCSI ID2, and the last connector to the SCSI card.
