Automatically Entering Patient Demographics from the ECG Directory
Patient demographics can be completed automatically by selecting an existing patient record in the directory.
However, when user authentication is enabled, this option is only available when the user is logged in as a
Technician or Administrator. If user authentication is disabled, the user will still be prompted to enter the device’s
Technician password if one has been configured.
1.
Select
from the real-time display.
2.
Select the
Directory
tab.
3.
Use the double arrows (
<<
or
>>
) at the right center of the screen to move page by page through the list of
acquired ECGs. The current/total number of pages is displayed between the double arrows. To select the
desired patient, use the touchpad to move the cursor to the ECG record and select.
4.
To search by patient name, select the
Search
field at the left side of the display and type the last name or
ID number. This feature will update the listing as characters are entered.
TIP:
Select
X
to clear the search field.
5.
Select the patient record from the directory list. A menu is displayed.
6.
Select
New ECG
to return to the patient ID screen with available demographic fields populated.
7.
Press
Next
to go to the real-time ECG display.
NOTE:
The ELI 380 must have ECG input to retain patient demographics.
Patient Hookup is
Required
message will display and prevents a move to the real-time ECG display.
NOTE:
Automatically populating demographic fields via the directory is only possible when the ID
formats are the same between records.
TIP:
Entry of a lower case letter as the first letter in the last or first name will automatically be
capitalized.
Automatically Entering Patient Demographics from the MWL (Modality Worklist)
Patient demographics can be completed automatically from Modality Worklist orders. However, when user
authentication is enabled, this option is only available when the user is logged in as a Technician or Administrator.
If user authentication is disabled, the user will still be prompted to enter the device’s Technician password if one has
been configured.
1.
Select
from the real-time ECG display, and then tap the
MWL
tab if necessary.
2.
Sort the MWL by
Name
,
ID, Location, Room
, or
Scheduled Date Last
by a tap on the column
header. A second tap will sort the list in reverse order.

To search by Query Code, select the
Query Code
field from the dropdown list and then press
Download
.
4.
The
Search
field can be used to locate downloaded orders by entering free text for name, ID, location,
room, or scheduled date. The listing will refresh as characters are entered. Tap the
X
at the right of the
search field to clear it.
5.
Use the double arrows (
<<
or
>>
) at the right center of the screen to move page by page through the list of
ECG orders. The current/total number of pages is displayed between the double arrows.
6.
When an order is selected from the MWL, the available patient demographics are automatically filled and
the scheduled order information appears in the upper area of the display.
7.
Select the
Next
icon to proceed to the real-time ECG display.
