CONNECTIVITY AND ECG TRANSMISSION
Patient Demographic Entry
Patient demographic information can be entered before acquisition. The entered patient ID fields will remain
populated until the ECG signal is detected. The ELI 380 will prompt you with “Patient Hookup Is Required” before
proceeding.
To access the patient demographic data entry menu, select
from the real-time display.

: Select
at any time to go to the real-time display.
Patient Demographic Formats
The patient demographic labels available are determined by the ID format selected from the configuration settings.
In addition to short or long patient ID formats, the ELI 380 also supports a custom ID format. The custom ID
format designed in ELI Link can be downloaded to the ELI 380. Additional information about custom ID can be
found in
ECG Directory, MWL, and the Patient List
or in the ELI Link user manual.
Manually Entering Patient Demographics
Patient demographics can be completed manually. Manually entered patient demographics are saved after
completing the entries and selecting
Next.
1.
Select
from the real-time display.
2.
Select any of the demographic fields to enter patient information.
3.
Once a demographic field is selected, the field is highlighted orange.
4.
Use the keyboard to complete the demographic field entry. Once completed, press the tab key or use the
touchpad to navigate to the next demographic field. Repeat this process until all the demographic fields
have been completed.
NOTE
: Do not press
Next
until the data entry for all required fields is complete. Pressing
Next
prior to
completion will display the real-time ECG. Select
Patient Information
to display the Patient
Demographic screen and complete the data entry. Select
Next
to return to the real-time ECG display.
TIP
: Select
X
to erase if you wish to cancel all manual demographic data entries.

Several fields (e.g., Sex, Race, etc.) will provide a dropdown list when selected. Choose from the list or
enter the first letter of an item for quick selection.

When finished, select
Next
to save and return to the real-time display. Skipped fields appear as a blank
data entry field on the header of the ECG printout.
NOTE
: If no age is entered, the interpretation will default to a 40-year old. The statement
“INTERPRETATION BASED ON A DEFAULT AGE OF 40 YEARS” will be in the interpretation text.
NOTE
: If an age of zero (0) is used, the interpretation will default to a 6-month old infant. The statement
“INTERPRETATION BASED ON A DEFAULT AGE OF 6 MONTHS” will be in the interpretation text.
NOTE
: A green highlighted field is shown where Mandatory Fields have been configured (i.e., last name,
ID, or last name and ID). The user will be prompted to enter information into Mandatory Fields if left
empty before acquiring an ECG.
