3 General Information: Introduction
3.1 Scope of Delivery
Please check your delivery for completeness and notify your supplier within 14 days
upon receipt of the shipment, if it is incomplete.
The package you received contains:

DTS masterclock

Mounting set for rack mounting consisting of:
- 4 pcs nuts for 19" housing
- 4 screws M6 for the nuts
- 4 plastic discs for screws M6

Connector set
- plug 3-pole black for power supply
- spring terminal 12-pole orange
- spring terminal 8-pole orange
- spring terminal 5-pole orange
- spring terminal 2-pole orange

2 pcs mounting tools with spring terminals

3.3 Device Description in this Manual
This instruction manual is for the master clocks
DTS 4801.masterclock
and
DTS
4802.masterclock
. Below both models will be referred to as the
DTS
480x.masterclock
and only as 4801 or 4802 with regard to the special features of the
individual models.

3.4 Device Description
The
DTS 480x.masterclock
is a master clock for use in network environments. It can
be synchronized both from NTP and also function as an NTP server. In addition, it can
import the time from DCF or from GPS (e.g. from GPS 4500).
As a master clock, it can supply a self-adjusting MOBALine clock line (with switch
function for clock illumination, switch program and world time function) or alternatively
to the MOBALine clock line, a line can also be operated with impulse clocks or DCF
active code clocks. The DTS 4802 is equipped with two such lines.
Alternatively it can generate serial telegrams and output them via RS 485 (only DTS
4801) or RS 232. Optional the DTS 4801 is able to drive a monitored RS485 clock line
(with switch function for clock illumination) with up to 31 devices.
The DTS 480x can supply NTP clocks with NTP and time zone tables using multicast.
As the "Main“ master clock, it can synchronize other master clocks or other equipment
with DCF and monitor with 4 alarm inputs. As an option to DCF, synchronization pulses
can also be generated.
