Creating Default Releases
When provisioning a number of CloudGate base units with identical settings, you can create a default
release to speed up the process.
A "Default Release" contains preset firmware, confiuration and developer image assignments for a
specific user group. By applying the "Default Release" to selected devices, you can easily provision a
large number of devices at once.
For example, if you have a user group called Field Services, you can create a "Default Release" for that
group that specifies a particular developer image. The developer image may contain customized
software for your site application. You can then assign the "Default Release" to all the devices in Field
Services. When the devices connect for the first time with the CloudGate Universe and check for
updates, the contents of the "Default Release", in this case a new developer image, is automatically
downloaded to all the devices in the group.
You can create "Default Releases" that specify a particular release of CloudGate firmware, developer
Image, config file, and Gobi firmware.
To create a Default Release:
Click Groups in the menu. 1.
Select a group by clicking the name to highlight it. 2.
Click the Default Releases tab.

Edit the change release options for each image and click Save to update the "Default Release" with 4.
