WARNING Risk of an accident from driving with a flat tyre
Flat tyres are dangerous in the following ways:

The tyres can overheat and cause a fire.
R
‑ The driving characteristics, steering and braking may be
greatly impaired.
You could then lose control of the vehicle.

Do not drive with a flat tyre.
#
Observe the notes on flat tyres.

Stop the vehicle in accordance with the traffic conditions.
#
Check the tyres.

Check tyre(s)
* The pressure in one or more tyres has fallen significantly. The wheel
position is shown.

WARNING Risk of an accident due to insufficient tyre pres‐
sure
Tyres with insufficient tyre pressure pose the following risks:
R
The tyres may burst, especially as the load and vehicle
speed increase.
R
The tyres may wear excessively and/or unevenly, which may
greatly impair tyre traction.
R
‑ The driving characteristics, steering and braking may be
greatly impaired.
You could then lose control of the vehicle.

Observe the recommended tyre pressures.
#
Adjust the tyre pressure if necessary.
#
Stop in accordance with the traffic conditions.
#
Check the tyre pressure (
/
page 314) and the tyres.

Rectify tyre pressure
* The pressure in at least one tyre is too low or the pressures of the
individual tyres deviate too much from each other.
#
Check the tyre pressure, and add air if necessary.
#
When the tyre pressure has been set correctly, re-start the tyre
pressure monitor (
/
page 330).

* The tyre pressure monitor is malfunctioning.
