Deactivate the KEYLESS-GO function of the
SmartKey.

To deactivate: press the
&
button on the
SmartKey twice in rapid succession.
The battery check lamp of the SmartKey
flashes twice briefly and lights up once.

To activate: press any button on the Smart‐
Key.
Automatic deactivation occurs after a few
minutes if the SmartKey is not moved. Automatic
activation occurs as soon as the SmartKey is
moved. All of the KEYLESS-GO functions are
available again.
When the SmartKey is deactivated, the button
functions are always available. In power saving
mode, the SmartKey cannot be accessed with‐
out authorization.

When the vehicle is started with the Smart‐
Key in the stowage compartment of the cen‐
ter console (
→
page 135), the SmartKey
functions are automatically activated.
Inserting/removing the mechanical key

Replacing the SmartKey battery

dren.
