Function of Active Lane Change Assist
Active Steering Assist is only an aid. You are
responsible for the distance to the vehicle in
front, for vehicle speed, for braking in good time
and for staying in lane. Before changing lanes,
make sure that the neighboring lane is free
(shoulder view).
%
The availability of the following function is
country-dependent.
Active Steering Assist remains active even if the
turn signal indicator is switched on. Active Steer‐
ing Assist then assists the driver when changing
lanes by applying steering torques to initiate the
lane change.
Assistance when changing lanes is provided if all
the following conditions are met:
R
You are driving on a freeway or high-speed
multi-lane major road with multiple lanes in
the direction of travel.
R
The neighboring lane is free and separated
by a broken lane marking.
R
The driven speed is between 50 mph
(80 km/h) and 110 mph (180 km/h).
R
The turn signal indicator is switched on for
longer than two seconds.
If the system is impaired, Active Lane Change
Assist may be interrupted. If an interruption
occurs, display
