If the child and the child restraint sys‐
tem together weigh more than 33 kg,
only use an ISOFIX or i‑Size child
restraint system with which the child is
secured with the vehicle seat belt.

Also secure the child restraint system
with the Top Tether belt, if available.
Always comply with the information about the
mass of the child restraint system

in the manufacturer's installation and operat‐
ing instructions for the child restraint system
used

on a label on the child restraint system, if
present
Regularly check that the permissible gross mass
of the child and child restraint system is still
being adhered to.
When using a child restraint system, be sure to
observe the manufacturer's installation and
operating instructions as well as its correct use
and the suitability of the seats for attaching a
child restraint system.
ISOFIX and i-Size are standardised securing sys‐
tems for special restraint systems. ISOFIX child
restraint systems are approved in accordance
with ECE R44, i‑Size child restraint systems are
approved in accordance with ECE R129.
Only child restraint systems that have been
approved in accordance with ECE R44 may be
attached to ISOFIX mounting brackets.
The following child restraint systems can be
attached to i-Size securing rings:
