Even small amounts of the wrong additive
may lead to malfunctions occurring.

Only add cleaning additives recommen‐
ded by Mercedes-Benz to the fuel.
Mercedes-Benz recommends that you use
brand-name fuels with additives.
The fuel grade available in some countries may
not be sufficient. Residue could build up in the
fuel injection system as a result. In this case, in
consultation with a Mercedes-Benz Service
Centre, the fuel may be mixed with the cleaning
additive recommended by Mercedes-Benz. Be
sure to observe the notes and mixing ratios
specified on the container.

WARNING Risk of fire through fuel mix‐
ture
If you mix diesel fuel with petrol, the flash
point of the fuel mixture is lower than that of
pure diesel fuel.
While the engine is running, component
parts in the exhaust system may overheat
unnoticed.

Never refuel using petrol.

Never mix diesel fuel with petrol.

forms to EN 590, or an equivalent spec‐
ification.

Vehicles with diesel particulate fil‐
ters: in countries outside the EU, only
use low-sulphur Euro diesel with a sul‐
phur content of under 50 ppm.

Information on low outside temperatures
Refuel your vehicle with as much winter diesel
fuel as possible at the beginning of winter.
Before changing over to winter diesel fuel, the
fuel tank should be empty, if possible. When
refuelling with winter diesel fuel for the first
