8.2
Cleaning Procedure for Head and Lens Assembly
8.2.1
The lens assembly includes a coated lens and lens
holder. Improper handling and cleaning practices can
damage surfaces or coatings which are utilized in this
assembly. Note that damage to the surface of the
glass or coating can deg
rade the controller‟s
performance. Proper handling and cleaning technique
should be adhered to. Below are the recommended
procedures for cleaning of the head & lens assembly.
8.2.2
Handling:
Always handle the head and lens assembly
by the metal body; never touch the optical window
assembly with your fingertips. The moisture or oils on
your fingertips can damage the coating of the glass in
the optical window assembly. Fingerprints left on an
optical surface for an extended period of time, can
become a permanent stain. Even if you are wearing
gloves, avoid touching the optical surface.
8.2.3
Never handle the glass lens/ window with metal
implements or tweezers.
8.2.4
To store head and lens assembly, wrap them
individually in a clean, lint free bag and store in a safe,
dry place.
8.2.5
Never store multiple unwrapped head and lens
assembly in the same bag, as they may become
damaged if they come in contact with each other.
