Replace all slot cards and power supplies in the same slot locations from which they were
removed.
Mounting in a 23-inch rack
To install an APX 1000 unit in a standard 23-inch (58.42cm) equipment rack, proceed as
follows:

Caution:
During removal and reinstallation, be sure to wear a properly grounded wrist strap,
and to protect the cards from exposure to static electricity while they are removed from the
chassis. See “Handling APX 1000 components” on page 3-2 for details.

Record the slot positions of each component, and then remove all power supplies and slot
cards from the APX 1000 chassis.

Orient the mounting adapters with the short tab against the chassis and the longer tab
facing forward as shown in Figure 3-7.

Align the holes in the mounting adapters with the screw holes in the chassis and attach the
mounting adapters to the APX 1000 chassis, as shown in Figure 3-7, with the screws that
are provided.

Insert the chassis with mounting adapters in the rack and secure it as shown in Figure 3-7.
