Mounting adapters
The mounting adapters that are shipped with the APX 1000 unit can be used to mount the unit
in a 19-inch rack or in a 23-inch rack. One of these mounting adapters is shown in Figure 3-4.

When the APX 1000 unit is mounted in a 19-inch rack, you must turn each adapter so that its
narrow tab faces toward the front of the unit. Then use four of the screws that are provided to
attach the wide tab of each adapter to the sides of the unit.
When the APX 1000 unit is mounted in a 23-inch rack, you must turn each adapter so that its
wide tab faces toward the front of the unit. Then use two of the screws that are provided to
attach the narrow tab of each adapter to the sides of the unit.
Chassis mounting points
There are three pairs of bracket mounting holes on each side of the APX 1000 chassis. When
the mounting bracket is oriented for use in a 19-inch rack, these holes provide two mounting
positions. When the mounting bracket is oriented for use in a 23-inch rack, these holes provide
three mounting positions.
