The APX 1000 power supply is secured by a single locking screw on the right side of the
power supply module. Use the following procedure to remove and replace an APX 1000 power
supply:

Turn off the power supply and safely disconnect it from its power source.

Fully loosen the locking screw of the power supply that will be replaced.

Pull firmly on the handle loop on the power supply to disengage the connector within the
APX 1000 chassis.

Hold the old power supply level while sliding it out of the APX 1000 chassis.

Align the new power supply being installed with the empty power supply slot in the
chassis.

Rest the guide rails located on both sides of the power supply on the guide tabs located on
either side of the empty power supply slot in the APX 1000 chassis, shown in Figure 3-9.

Gently insert the new power supply along the guide track, shown in Figure 3-10, until it
engages the connector inside the chassis.
