e.  Turn the heat-sink-and-fan assembly upside down. Release two retaining clips

at the corner of the 

microprocessor retainer and then release the other two retaining clips

as shown. Then, lift the 

retainer

with the microprocessor from the heat-sink-and-fan assembly.

Note:

Set aside the microprocessor retainer with the microprocessor. Ensure that the thermal 

grease on the bottom of the microprocessor does not get in contact with anything.

5.  To install a heat-sink-and-fan assembly on the system board, do the following: 

a.  If necessary, apply appropriate amount of thermal grease to the bottom of the heat-sink-and-fan 

assembly as shown.
