to proceed.
When all Processors have been updated, cycle the power of each PLM by turning the power switch off,
8.
and then either removing the PowerCon connector from the rear of each PLM or switching off all power
to the PLM racks at source. Then reconnect the power and switch the PLMs back on. It is very important
to cycle the mains power in order for the firmware upgrade to take effect.
If the new firmware includes upgrades for the amplifier, or the front panel functions, these upgrades will
9.
be initialized automatically. Activity and progress will be indicated on the front panel. After an upgrade of
the amplifier firmware, the unit will reboot automatically.
Wait for each Processor to re-sync following the power cycle.

recalled. This file will reload the
PLMs with the data that was present prior to the upgrade process.
12.8 Hot Swapping PLM devices
Should it be necessary to swap one PLM device for another within a system it is very important to make
sure that the configuration of the replacement unit is identical to that of the unit that it replaces. It is possible
to achive this by using the Replace Frame facility within the Lake Controller software application. See Lake
Controller User Manual chapter 7.4.3 for further information.
