ADP, Inc.
Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
A two-layered communications protocol suite that connects different types of
computers to various types of media, while providing data correction, security,
and reliability.
Transmission Control Protocol (TCP): A protocol in the TCP/IP suite that
manages the assembling of a message or file into smaller packets that are
transmitted over the Internet and received by a TCP layer that reassembles the
packets into the original message.
Internet Protocol (IP): A protocol that handles the address of each packet so that it
gets to the right destination.

An operation employees perform at the timeclock, such as adding a punch and
performing a labor account transfer. Personnel with supervisor badges can
perform the same functions for one or more employees, when necessary.
Universal Product Code (UPC)
The UPC-A and UPC-E badge symbologies that have a character set consisting of
the numeric characters 0 through 9 and a check digit.
