Undo 2 screws and disassemble the upper segment.

Undo 2 screws and remove the remaining fan (

*K9L45-5087

).

Install a new replacement part(s) in the reverse order of the removing procedure.    Carefully
read the precautions shown below before reassembling the unit.    Since reassembling the fan
unit  of  the  optical  head  unit  is  very  complicated,  refer  to  the  figures

  to

  and

the

assembly drawing shown on the next page when

reassembling the fan unit.

Reconnect all cables at the original positions and tie them with tying bands.
For the cable connecting positions, refer to

.

Precautions for part replacement

Each  fan  has  a  certain  direction  of  airflow.    Install  a  fan  in  the  correct  airflow  direction.

An arrow shown on a fan indicates the airflow direction.

Fine-shuts (K9L39 #600) are very important parts.    If no fine-shut is used, exhaust flow

rate  will  change  and  cause  heat  retention  within  the  optical  head  unit.    Used  fine-shuts

must be replaced with new fine-shuts.

Also  replace  worn  sponges

K9L45  #551

with  new  sponges.    If  no  sponge  is  used,

exhaust flow rate will change and cause heat retention within the optical head unit.
