4.9 Service procedure

Replace corrosion resistor cartridge
1. Open the engine side cover located on the right of the
engine hood.
2. Set valve (1) at the side of the corrosion resistor to the
CLOSED position.
3. Using a filter wrench, turn cartridge (2) to the left to remove
it.
4. Apply engine oil to the sealing surface of a new cartridge,
then install it to the filter holder.
5. Bring the packing surface into contact with the seal surface
of the filter holder, then tighten it further approx. 2/3 turn.
6. Set valve (1) to the OPEN position.
7. After replacing the cartridge, start the engine and check that
there is no leakage of water from the cartridge seal surface.
Check of engine air intake piping clamps for looseness
Check the clamps between the air cleaner, turbocharger, after-
cooler, and engine for looseness. If any clamp is loosened,
retighten it.
