SAFETY BELTS
The vehicle seats are provided with safety belts
.
Safety belt prevents considerable displacement of driver
in direction opposite to hit direction, thus, decreases
danger of injure, e.g. at frontal clash.
To fasten the safety belts
1. Smoothly pull the
safety belt out of mechanism
and place over the shoulder
(see Fig
. Safety belts
).
2. Insert the belt tongue
1 into lock 2 till the click of
fixation, with this avoid strap
twisting.
To unfasten the safety
belts
, press the knob of lock 3.
Attention!
Ensure that the belt
strip:
- is tight to driver’s
body;
- passes across the shoulder middle;
- does not pass across throat or under hand;
- is stretched in lumbar part while tightening the
safety belt up in front of breast;
- if belt is unfastened for complete reeling, and
also, to avoid seizure, it is suggested to hold the belt
strap on.
Safety belt performs protection function if seat
back is arranged almost vertically and if sitting person
body is straight.
Use safety belts in all trips. Each safety belt is
used by one person only.
Disassembly of safety belt parts is prohibited. In
case of straps soiling, wash them with soft detergent.
In case of serious belt damages (worn straps, cuts,
failure of draw-in device) as well as at critical loads in
road accident, the belt should be changed by the belt of
the same model.
Warning system of safety belt fasting
is in-
stalled in certain vehicle configurations.
If safety belt is unfasten the pilot lamp flashes on
the instrument panel
.
At start of vehicle motion and
unfasten safety belt an intermittent sound signal acti-
vates.
