Event Code: 433

Message:

Non-recoverable Ethernet fault.

Severity:

Major.

Explanation:

A non-recoverable error was detected on the CTP card Ethernet adapter and the LAN connection to the
management server or Internet terminated. All Fibre Channel switching functions remain unaffected. This event
only occurs on a director with a single CTP card. Because Ethernet communication is lost, no failure indication is
externally reported.

Action:

Replace the CTP card with a functional card. Perform the data collection procedure and return the CD and faulty
card to McDATA support personnel.

Event Data:

Bytes 0 - 3 = LAN error type, where 01 = hard failure and 04 = registered fault.
Bytes 4 - 7 = LAN error subtype (internally defined).
Bytes 8 - 11 = LAN fault identifier (internally defined).
