Place a drain pan in position under the oil tank. Using a
3/4" wrench, remove the drain plug and allow the
engine oil to drain from the tank.
Clean and inspect the drain plug and washer. Replace
the washer if it is distorted or damaged to the point that
it does not provide a good seal. Install the drain plug in
the tank and tighten to specification.
Loosen the clamps, using a flat-blade screwdriver, and
disconnect the four oil lines at the right front corner of
the tank. Tag the lines for identification and proper
reconnecting when the oil tank is installed.
From under the motorcycle frame, loosen the four tank
mounting screws, using a 5/32" hex bit.
While supporting the tank, remove the screws, washers
and isolators. Lower and remove the tank from the
motorcycle.
Clean and inspect the tank. Make the needed repair or
replace the tank as necessary.

Apply blue threadlock to the threads of the four oil tank
mounting screws.
Place the oil tank in position under the transmission
mounting pad and install the mounting screws, washers
and isolators, using a 5/32" hex bit. Tighten the screws
to specification.
