1. WARNINGS - SAFETY REGULATIONS
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
These instructions must be read and understood before use.
Do not undertake any modifications or maintenance work that is not specified in the user manual.
The manufacturer shall not be liable for any damage to persons or property incurred as a result of using the product in a manner that is not in
accordance with the instructions in this user manual.
If problems or uncertainties should arise, consult a qualified person to correctly carry out the installation process.
ENVIRONMENT
This equipment should only be used for welding operations that are within the limits indicated on the information plate and/or in the user manual. The
safety guidelines must be observed. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for improper or dangerous use.
The device must be operated in a room where no dust, acids, flammable gases or other corrosive substances are present. This also applies to the
device’s storage environment. Ensure good air circulation when using the appliance.
Temperature range:
Use between -10 and +40°C (+14 and +104°F).
Store between -20 and +55°C (-4 and 131°F).
Air humidity:
Less than or equal to 50% at 40°C (104°F).
Less than or equal to 90% at 20°C (68°F).
Altitude:
Up to 1,000 m above sea level (3,280 feet).
PROTECTING YOURSELF AND OTHERS
Arc welding can be dangerous and cause serious injury or death.
Welding exposes an individual to a dangerous source of heat, light radiation from the arc, electromagnetic fields (attention to those with pacemakers),
risk of electrocution, noise and fumes.
To protect yourself and others, follow these safety instructions:
To protect yourself from burns and radiation, wear clothing that is insulating, dry, fireproof, without cuffs and in good condition; make
sure that it covers the whole body.
Use gloves that are both electrically and thermally insulated.
Wear a welding mask or goggles with a tint between shade 5 - 9. Protect your eyes during cleaning operations. Contact lenses are
strictly forbidden.
It may be sometimes necessary to separate the welding area from the arc, spatter and incandescent waste by using fire-proof
curtains.
Advise people in the welding area not to look at the arc rays or the molten material and to wear the appropriate protective clothing.
Use noise-cancelling headphones if the welding process reaches a noise level above the permissible limit (this also applies to
anyone in the welding area).
Keep hands, hair and clothing away from moving parts (such as the fans).
Parts that have previously been welded will be hot and may cause burns if manipulated. During maintenance work on the gun, you
should make sure it’s cold enough and wait at least 10 minutes before any intervention.
It is important to secure the work area before leaving it, this is to protect people and property.
WELDING FUMES AND GASES
The fumes, gases and dusts emitted by the welding process are hazardous to your health. Sufficient ventilation must be provided
and, in some cases, an air supply may be necessary. A supplied-air mask could be the solution in cases where ventilation is
inadequate.
Check that the suction is effective by testing it against the relevant safety standards.
Caution: Welding in confined spaces requires remote supervision for safety reasons. Furthermore, welding of certain materials that contain lead,
cadmium, zinc, mercury or even beryllium, can be particularly harmful, so be sure to degrease the parts before welding them.
Gas cylinders should be stored in open or well ventilated areas. They should be kept in an upright position and supported on a stand or trolley.
Do not weld near grease or paint.
