TROUBLESHOOTING

3-1 INTRODUCTION

Chapter 3 is designed to guide the maintenance agent in troubleshooting and correcting any failures as
rapidly as possible to reduce printer downtime to a minimum for level 1 maintenance.

It describes a range of failures that may occur during operation, but does not claim to be exhaustive.

IER 567 printer maintenance is faciltated by use of the test keypad and observation of the two LEDs
inside the printer.

Test Keypad

The test keypad is used to configure and perform maintenance (run maintenance tests) of IER 567
printers when the printer keypad is unavailable.

The test keypad is powered by the printer.

Refer to the IER 567 Printer technical manual for use of the two keypads.

LEDs

Refer to the IER 567 Printer technical manual for details about the meaning of the printer LEDs.

Failures during Operation

Such failures make the printer totally or partially unable to print documents.
