Cause
Tiny pieces of paper remain in the paper path.
White dust attaches the scanning position (mold part) of the CIS Unit
assembly. Scratches or others.
White dust attaches the glass surface of the CIS Unit assembly.
Failure of the CIS Unit assembly.
Corrective
action
Cleaning inside the device.
Cleaning and check of the mold part of the CIS Unit assembly.
(There should be no scratches or the like.)
Cleaning of the glass surface of the CIS Unit assembly.

If the symptom remains,
or the white level reference label has
scratches,
or the glass surface has scratches,
Replace the CIS Unit assembly.
