FC32-48 port blade overview
The FC32-48 port blade contains 48 ports capable of Fibre Channel (FC) speeds up to 32 Gbps. Each port
blade provides 48 backplane ports connections to core routing blades. The port blade supports port-based
in-flight encryption/decryption and compression/decompression.
Port and extension blades can be mixed in device slots 3, 4, 7, and 8, but CR32-4 blades must be installed
in slots 5 and 6. Up to four hot-swappable port blades can be installed in a single chassis to provide up
to 192 32 Gbps FC ports.
Optics such as the following can be installed in the blade's FC ports. For a complete list of transceivers
refer to the “Supported transceivers and cables” on page 65.
v 32 Gbps SFP+ transceivers supporting speeds 8, 16, and 32 Gbps .
v 16 Gbps SFP+ transceivers supporting speeds of 4, 8, and 16 Gbps.
v 10 Gbps SFP+ transceivers supporting 10 Gbps.
Port blades contain the following LED indicators:
v Green blade power LED
v Amber blade status LED
v Bicolor green/amber FC port status LEDs
