Managing shortcuts - creating, entering, deleting
Shortcuts let you send documents more easily to routine recipients. You can create or delete
shortcuts either from the MFP or through the MFP Web pages. This section describes how you
create, enter, and delete shortcuts.
Creating a fax shortcut
Once you build a Fax To: list, you can save it as a shortcut for future use. Use the navigation arrow
buttons to highlight
Save
, and then press
✓
. The Fax To: list is saved as a shortcut, and the new
shortcut number is displayed. You can change the name and number of the shortcut by browsing to
the IP address or host name of the MFP.
Creating an e-mail or FTP shortcut
Once you have added a group of e-mail addresses or an FTP address to the To: list, you can create
a shortcut from it. Highlight
View To: list
and press
✓
. Highlight
Save List
and press
✓
.
Highlight
Continue
, and then press
✓
to confirm your choice. Your shortcut is saved. You can
change the name and number of the shortcut by browsing to the IP address or host name of the
MFP.
Entering shortcuts
Using #, you can access shortcuts from the Home screen:
• Press # and the number of the shortcut to bring up the appropriate function for the shortcut
and choose any settings.
• Press #, the number of the shortcut, and then Start to bring up the appropriate function and
begin scanning with the default settings for the shortcut.
You can also enter shortcuts from within a function screen. Press # and the number of a shortcut
defined for that function to place the shortcut in the To: list.
Deleting shortcuts
To delete a shortcut, press the Administration (key) button. Highlight
Default Menus
and press
✓
.
Press the down arrow until
Delete Shortcuts
is highlighted, and then press
✓
. Highlight the type
of shortcut you want to delete (fax, e-mail, FTP or profile), and press
✓
. Highlight the shortcut(s) you
want to delete, and then press
✓
to mark the shortcut(s) for deletion. Highlight
Delete
and press
✓
to delete the shortcut(s). You can also delete shortcuts by browsing to the IP address or host name
of the MFP.
Note: The MFP does not ask you to confirm your selection when you delete a shortcut.
