2. From the network station, select option F8, Set Twinax Station Address,
and set this address to 0
3. Select option F3, Set Network Parameters, and enter the following:
a. Select NVRAM
b. First host for Boot Host IP Address: 10.1.1.1
c. First host for Configuration Host IP
Address
: the IP address of
the NSM 3.X Server
d. Second host for Configuration Host IP Address: 10.1.1.1
4. Select option F4, Set Boot Parameters
a. Change Boot File to kernel
b. Change TFTP Boot Directory to /nstation/prodbase/
c. Change NFS Boot Directory to /netstation/prodbase/
d. Change Boot Host Protocol to TFTP 1 and NFS 2
5. Select option F5, Set Configuration Parameters
a. Change Configuration File to standard.nsm
b. Configuration Directory > First, select /QIBM/ProdData/
NetworkStation/Configs/
c. Configuration Host Protocol > First to RFS/400
Using the ConfigurationPlus Program
Before configuring the 5500 control unit, the following must be available:
• A correctly configured workstation client connected to twinax port 0 of
the 5500 Control Unit breakout box
• The 5500 Control Unit correctly installed and powered-on
Required configuration information; refer to “Required Configuration and
Worksheet” on page 165.
ConfigurationPlus is a software program resident on your 5500 Express IP
Control unit. This program allows you to configure your 5500 control unit and
to perform other administrative tasks. When using the program, assistance is
available by selecting the help button from the Main Menu.
The following steps provide the program flow for initial configurations.
Figure 25 on page 67 provides an overview of all the windows available in
ConfigurationPlus.
Note: Each window in the program contains a number in the upper left corner.
In each of the steps below, these numbers are indicated in parentheses.
