Step 4: After completing this information, click OK to continue. The system
returns you to the previous window. Repeat the steps for each of your required
ports.
Step 5: After completing the set up for the Twinax Ports and Addresses, click
OK on the screen with the eight Ports. You will return to the Configuration
Hardware Editor window (H00).
Configuring the LAN
Step 1: Select the LAN configuration to connect the 5500 Control Unit to a
Token Ring or Ethernet LAN.
Note: The number of LAN interfaces available for configuration depends
upon the model of your 5500 Control Unit.
Step 2: Select Enable for your required LAN interfaces, enter your IP
addresses and the subnet mask. After completing the LAN Configuration
window (H30), select OK. The system returns to the previous screen (H00).
Configuring the WAN
Step 1: Select the WAN configuration to connect the 5500 Control Unit using
a modem.
Step 2: From the WAN Configuration window (H40), select the WAN
interface that you want to configure.
Step 3: Select enable and enter the required telephone number for your WAN
connection (H41).
Step 4: Click OK to continue to the next window (H43) or Advanced to set
up advanced features. (Selecting OK on the Advanced window (H42) returns
to the previous screen (H41).
Step 5: Enter the Baud Rate. Select Change Modem if you do not want to
use the modem shown on this screen.
Step 6: At the Change Modem page (H45), select the manufacture of the
modem you will use from the box on the left. The frame with the models will
update. Then choose the model you will use from the box on the right. Click
OK to return to the previous window. If the system does not display your
modem in the list, then select a standard modem.
Step 7: Use the Advanced Modem option to enter the information required
by your modem.
