Configuring the IBM 5500 Controller ID
Step 1: Select IBM 5500 Controller ID to open the IBM 5500 Controller
Identification window (H10):

same network, you will need to have a unique Controller Name for each one.
Step 2: Enter the controller name.
Step 3: Optionally, enter the Host Name and Domain Name that applies to
the TCP/IP unique name given this machine. Click the OK button to
temporarily save the information and return to the previous screen (H00).
Network Station Users: To maximize the performance of the Network
Station and applications, be sure to complete the Domain Name, Host Name
and DNS entries.
Configuring the Twinax Network
Step 1: Select Twinax Network.
Step 2: From the Twinax Controller Configuration window (H20), enter the
new IP Address and Subnet Mask required for the Twinax Controller. Enter
the Default Gateway if required. Write down this information for future
reference.
Notes:
1. If you have a twinax multiplexer that requires you to disable the dual
mode controller, click the Advance button.
2. Entering 255.255.255.192 for your Subnet Mask allows you to auto
configure all 56 addresses.
Click OK to continue.
Important: If you changed the IP Address or Subnet Mask, a warning
window can appear. You can view the addresses that will be
invalidated, or cancel to correct the IP information when
complete. Click OK to proceed.
Step 3: A window appears with eight buttons, one for each Port on the
Twinax breakout box. Select the port on the breakout box that you need to
configure.
The system displays a window with each of the seven available addresses.
From the available choices in the drop down box, select an IP Address for
each of your required devices.
