Step 8: Click OK to complete the WAN setup or select Advanced to
configure advanced settings for your modem. Click OK on the Advanced
window (H44) to return to the previous window.
Step 9: If you required both WAN interfaces, choose the other WAN and
repeat the steps required to set up another interface.
Step 10: Upon completion of the required information, click OK.
Step 11: Click OK on the Hardware Configuration menu.
If you will be connecting Network Stations to the 5500, configure those
options now or click OK to complete your configurations.
Configuring SOCKS Host for Network Station
The screen (N10) allows you to enter the SOCKS Host name and SOCKS
Port number to update your network station’s Navigator browser.
Saving and Activating Your Changes
Step 1: The system prompts you to save your changes on C50. Click Yes to
save your changes.
Step 2: If you selected Save in the previous step, the system returns to the
Configuration window. If your configuration is complete and you are ready to
activate the new configuration, select Activate.
Step 3: Click on the OK button to shutdown and then click OK again on the
Java Script popup window to activate the new configuration. The 5500
control unit will restart using the new configuration. All twinax network
stations will have to be restarted.
Step 4: If you changed twinax client IP addresses, you must reconfigure and
restart the twinax clients.
Backing-Up Your Hardware Configuration
Once you are satisfied with your active configuration, IBM recommends that
you back up your configuration. For added protection, you should also create
a recovery file.
Step 1: Complete your configuration by reconfiguring your twinax client and
changing your browser to the new IP address for the 5500 control unit.
Step 2: Open a browser (Netscape or Internet Explorer) and enter the 5500
control unit’s IP addresses in the Location box.
Step 3: The ConfigurationPlus welcome screen appears (D00). To proceed,
click the Enter button.
