tunneling. A technique for enabling two networks to communicate when the source and destination hosts are on the
same type of network but there is a different network in between.

UDP. User datagram protocol.
unicast. A routing that provides one or more optimal paths between any two switches that make up a fabric. This is
for a single copy of the data to be sent to designated destinations.
WAN. Wide area network.
world-wide name (WWN). A WWN uniquely identifies a switch on local and global networks.
WWN. See World-wide name.
WWW. World-wide web.
zone alias. An alias for a set of port numbers or WWNs. Zone aliases can be used to simplify the entry of port
numbers and WWNs. For example, “host” could be used as an alias for a WWN of 110:00:00:60:69:00:00:8a.
zone configuration. A set of zones designated as belonging to the same zone configuration. When a zone
configuration is in effect, all valid zones in that configuration are also in effect.
