portLoopbackTest
The portLoopbackTest command verifies the intended functional operation of the
switch by sending frames from the transmitter on each port back to the receiver on
the same port using an internal hardware loopback.
Pressing Enter while the portLoopbackTest is selected displays a reminder to take
the switch offline, if it is not offline. If the message is displayed, take the switch
offline.
The portLoopbackTest command is an internal test that continues to run until you
press any button. While the test is running, all GBIC module front-panel LEDs
rapidly flicker green; that indicates that the test is finding no errors and is
processing.
To stop the test, press any button. The panel activates the display shown in
Figure 40.

DIAG-TIMEOUT, DIAG-ERRSTAT, DIAG-STATS, DIAG-DATA, DIAG-PORTABSENT.
Port register test
Figure 41 shows the portRegTest command, which checks each register and static
memory that are located on the system board. Registers are set under firmware
control and control the hardware route selection and other internal hardware
functions.
Attention: This command cannot be performed on an operational switch. Before
issuing the portRegTest command, disable the switch by using the switchDisable
command. Disabling the switch halts all operation on the switch.
This test validates that all registers can be successfully accessed.
Related error messages: DIAG-REGERR, DIAG-REGERR_UNRST,
DIAG-BUS_TIMEOUT.
Push button test
Pressing Enter while the push button test is running activates the display shown in
Figure 42 on page 100.
