Remove the check valve by rolling the cylinder and tapping the check valve with a rubber mallet. Tap at an angle away
from the cylinder.
3.
Tilt the cylinder so that the low-pressure poppet comes out.
4.
Put the cylinder on the seal-locating ring.
5.
Put the stepped end of the push tool against the seal and tap on the end of the push tool with a rubber mallet to push
the bottom seal and hoop out of the high-pressure cylinder.
6.
Turn the cylinder over and put it on the locating ring.
Prevent the spacer tube from sliding out when the cylinder is turned over.
7.
Position the nonstepped end of the push tool against the spacer tube and tap on the end of the push tool with a
rubber mallet to push the remaining seal and hoop out of the high-pressure cylinder.
8.
Slide the spacer tube out of the cylinder.
9.
Disassemble all of the parts.
10.
Clean each part with a lint-free towel and isopropyl alcohol.
11.
Examine all parts for deterioration, corrosion, or damage. Examine the check valve and low-pressure poppet faces for
cracks or erosion marks. If damage is found, repair or replace the part.
Refer to page 80 for repair instructions. Refer to page 93 for replacement instructions.
12.
Clean and examine parts that will be replaced to identify wear patterns or damage that can signify other problems.
13.
Replace the high-pressure cylinder if it is chipped or cracked.
Do not use soap, detergent, or solvents.
