THIS DOCUMENT IS THE PROPERTY OF HÜETTE BOHRTECHNIK GMBH - TOTAL OR PARTIAL REPRODUCTION IS PROHIBITED
During operations that require an assistant on board the machine, precise and
unquestionable instructions must be given:
-
the assistant must obey the orders from the operator;
-
before going from a standstill to movement of any element, the assistant must be in a
safe position, and approach the moving parts only after making sure that the operator
clearly understands his intentions.
To avoid crushing of the upper limbs, the drilling rods and the casing tubes must grasped
by the cylindrical surface and not by the ends.

If there are any dangers to himself or others, the assistant must immediately intervene
with the wired safety device that the machine is equipped with in order to stop all
movements of the machine.
4.13.2.
Drilling with single rod
Hole-bottom hammer - Rod and tool (tri-cone or tri-blade)
– External hammer
This type of drilling is widely used in terrain with rather hard rock. Before starting to drill, a
swivel head and an elastic coupling must be applied to the rotary head.
1)
Place the drilling rig near the hole to be made, with the mast at the desired inclination.
2)
Raise on the mast the first rod elements, couple it with the swivel head by means of slow
rotation of the head; then stop rotation, lock the rod on the clamps and complete coupling
of the rod and rotary head.
3)
Use the same procedure to install the hole bottom hammer or selected tool.
4)
Activate rotation of the head and the jet of compressed air in the rod. Activate the striker
of the hole bottom hammer and forward the head as far as the lower limit switch on the
mast.
Use care when using compressed air for cleansing. Air cleansing drives debris upward at
high speed, therefore you need to be at a safe distance before you activate it.
5)
At this point, you need to interrupt forwarding and rotation of the head, as well as
cleansing.
6)
The jet of compressed air must always be interrupted before you can disconnect the
components of the rod.
7)
Close the clamps and rotate the rotary head in the opposite direction, while at the same
time raising the rotary head to recover the length of the threading
