DHCP, TFTP, and DNS Window-Based Services
DHCP, TFTP, and DNS Windows based services are required for NS2100 systems. As of J06.07,
these services can reside either on a pair of System Consoles or a pair of CLuster I/O Modules
(CLIMs). By default Hewlett Packard Enterprise ships these services on:
•
NonStop system consoles for AC-powered systems
•
CLIMs for DC-powered systems
You can move these services from the NonStop system consoles to CLIMs or from CLIMs to the
system consoles. Procedures for moving these services are located in the Service Procedures
collection of NTL. For details, see:
•
Changing the DHCP, DNS, or BOOTP Server from System Consoles to CLIMs
•
Changing the DHCP, DNS, or BOOTP Server from CLIMs to System Consoles
•
You cannot have these services divided between a CLIM and a system console. This mixed
configuration is not supported.
CAUTION:
You must have only two sources of these services in the same dedicated service
LAN. If these services are installed on any other sources, they must be disabled. To determine
the location of these services, see
Locating and Troubleshooting DHCP, TFTP and DNS Services
on the NonStop Dedicated Service LAN
