On the domain controller, add an OU group container.

Create a user, and assign a password (consoleldap) in the Users Directory.

Create a computer account for the console switch in the Directory.

Create groups for console switch administrators and users.

Add the users and servers (or console switches) to the appropriate groups.

From the HP IP Console Viewer application, log in to the console switch.
13.
Test the LDAP communications from the HP IP Console Viewer application.

After the basic LDAP communication test succeeds, log in to the console switch from the HP IP
Console Viewer.
NOTE: The console switch names and server names used for group attribute queries are stored
in the console switches. The console switch name and server names specified in the SNMP and
Servers categories of the Manage Console Switch must identically match the object names in
the Active Directory. Each console switch name and server name might be composed of any
combination of uppercase and lowercase letters (a through z, A through Z), digits (0 to 9), and
hyphens (-). Spaces and periods (.) are not allowed, and the name may not consist entirely of
digits. These are Active Directory constraints. The factory default console switch name in earlier
versions contains a space that must be removed by editing the system name in the SNMP
category of the Manage Console Switch window.
