To Use the Aileron Differential Function
The 12X Aileron Differential function reduces the travel of the
Aileron that deflects downward without affecting the Aileron
that travels upward, eliminating adverse yaw effects and
improving coordinated turns. The Brake Differential function
is programmable that reduces the aileron differential when
the crow/butterfly, spoiler stick is deployed; it is helpful for
maintaining aileron authority during spot landings.
1. Highlight and select AIL Diff. in the FUNC.LIST to obtain
the Aileron Differential display.
2. If no flight modes are activated, a single Aileron differential
and Brake Diff setting is available. Highlight the AILE
or Brake DIFF to program the desired values. A positive
differential value causes the downward Aileron to travel less
The Aileron Differential function provides for up to 5 Differential
and Brake Differential settings that are Flight Mode selectable.
When flight modes are activated in Device Select (see page
S-19), the differential screen displays an Aileron Differential
Value and Brake Diff. Value for each flight mode that will
automatically be selected via the flight mode switch.
(normally used) while a negative value causes the upward
Aileron to travel less (negative differential). Brake Diff value
reduces the differential as the spoiler stick is deployed.
3. If Flight modes are activated (see Device Select page S-19),
Differential and Brake Diff values can be assigned for each
flight mode and are automatically activated via the flight
mode switch.
