H-36
The 12X offers three different types of Gyro Gain Sensitivity
Adjustments: manual, flight mode or automatic. This feature
gives the user the choice of selecting gyro sensitivity through
the rudder, aileron or elevator dual rate switches (manual),
selecting one of three available gain settings for each flight
mode (FOMD) or automatically selecting a gain for each flight
mode (up to 6 gain settings). The gyro program can be set
up for normal or tail lock gyros. In tail lock mode the value
correlates with the actual percentage of the gyro output. A time
lag feature delays the gain input when switching from tail lock
to conventional mode preventing the tail from jumping when
switching modes.
Note
: To access the gyro function, the Gear, Aux1 or Aux
2 channels must be programmed to GYR in device select
code 17 and the gyro gain lead must be plugged into this
channel.
1. Using the Rolling Selector highlight the GYRO SENS
function in function mode to access the Gyro Sensor
function.
2. To select the switch or function that will be used, select
gyro gain settings. Highlight Manual then press the Rolling
Selector to select the desired switch, auto or FMOD.
3. To select the gyro type, use the Rolling Selector to highlight
NORM, then select T.LOCK if you have a tail lock or
heading lock gyro NORMAL for a conventional gyro. Note:
If T. LOCK is selected, a time lag function is available that
will program a delay when switching from normal to tail
lock mode preventing the tail from jerking when switching
the tail lock to normal gain. The function can be toggled on
or off.
4. Use the Rolling Selector to select the gain position to be
adjusted, and then press and roll the Rolling Selector to
increase or decrease the gain values as needed.
5. If AUTO mode has been selected, once the gain values
for positions 0, 1 and 2 have been set, move the Rolling
Selector to highlight the mode positions (NORM, ST-1, and
ST-2), and select the gain position (value) for each mode.
6. To exit the Gyro Gain function, move the Rolling Selector to
highlight LIST, and press.
