TCAS does surveillance and tracking functions in sensitivity levels 3 through 7.
TCAS gives resolution and traffic advisories in these levels.
NOTE
The conditions for sensitivity level 3 through 7 are from own aircraft altitude as
follows:
(1) Sensitivity level 3 - Own aircraft altitude is between 1,000 and 2,350 feet
AGL (radio altitude).
(2) Sensitivity level 4 - Own aircraft altitude is between 2,350 feet AGL and
5,000 feet mean sea level (MSL) (pressure altitude).
(3) Sensitivity level 5 - Own aircraft altitude is not higher than 10,000 feet
MSL.
(4) Sensitivity level 6 - Own aircraft altitude is 10,000 to 20,000 feet MSL.
(5) Sensitivity level 7 - Own aircraft altitude is above 20,000 feet MSL.
NOTE:
The transponder TCAS control panel must be set to the TA/RA mode for sensitivity levels 3
through 7.
