5. SPARK ARRESTER
(optional part)
The spark arrester must be serviced every 100 hours to keep
it functioning as designed.
If the engine has been running, the muffler will be very hot.
Allow the muffler to cool before servicing the spark arrester.
1. Loosen the captive 5 mm hex bolt, then remove the fan
cover.
2. Remove the 3 x 6 mm self-tapping screw from the spark
arrester, and remove the spark arrester from the muffler.
3. Use a brush to remove carbon deposits from the spark
arrester screen. Be careful to avoid damaging the screen.
The spark arrester must be free of breaks and holes.
Replace the spark arrester if it is damaged.
4. Install the spark arrester in the reverse order of removal.
5. Install the fan cover and tighten the captive 5 mm hex bolt
securely
