2006 Water Systems — Section 6 • 115
4. Open the black water valve located on the frame next to the drain terminal. Allow the black tank to
drain.
5. If applicable, use the optional tank flush system.
• Connect a non-potable water hose, with pressure regulator, to the flush system
fitting.
• Turn on the faucet allowing water to rinse the black tank at least three minutes.
Never operate the system unattended. Ensure the water flows freely through the
drain hose.
• When completed turn off the faucet.
6. Close the black water valve.
7. Open the grey water valve(s) located on the frame. The water in the grey tank(s) will flush any
remaining solids from the hose. With the grey water valve(s) open, run two gallons of water down sink
drains. The grey valve(s) remain open until the next drain cycle or departure.
8. If preparing for travel, close all the valves. Undo restraining devices from the hose. Disconnect hose
from the termination outlet by rotating the fitting counterclockwise 90º.
9. Raise hose and drain using hand over hand method working hose towards shore fitting. Rinse the hose
with outside facility and repeat the hose drain process.
10. Remove the hose from shore fitting and store. Secure the termination cap (required by law in some
States).
11. If desired, add chemicals to the tanks to control odor. Follow the chemical manufacturer’s directions.
NOTE:
Always dump the tanks before traveling.
toilet
Operating Instructions
The toilet operates from either fresh water tank or city water supply. The water pump must be turned on or the
city water connected. The toilet flushes directly into a sewage holding tank (black water).
Flushing the Toilet:
• To add water to the toilet move the flush lever mid way to flush position until desired
water level is reached. Generally, more water is required only when flushing solids.
• To flush the toilet, push the lever all the way to flush position until the sewage leaves
the toilet. Water flow pressures vary at different locations; therefore, holding the
flush lever down for five to eight seconds may be required. A 2-gpm flow for proper
rim and bowl wash is recommended.
Troubleshooting - Leaks:
• Leak from back of the toilet: check the water supply line connection.
• Bowl will not hold water: Check for foreign material in valve blade groove in the
flush drain.
• Leaks between closet flange and toilet: Check screws for tightness. If leak continues,
remove toilet and check flange height. Adjust, if necessary, to 7/16” above floor.
Replace the flange seal if damaged.
• Difficult hand lever operations require a light film of silicone spray on the blade.
