Tow Ball Load
A trailer hitched to a vehicle places
a weight on the tow bar. This weight
is called the tow bar ball weight or
tow ball load (1).

For single axle trailers, the tow
ball load should be 10% of the
loaded trailer mass.
E.g. if the weight of the trailer
and its contents is 750 kg, the
tow ball load should be 75 kg.
