5.7.1 Advanced Spoke Detection
This mode, to be enabled in case of need and only in
“BALANCING” (
5.9) and “BALANCE WITH RUN
OUT” modes (
5.8), allows exact identification of rim
spokes position and size.
It allows a more precise placement of weights behind
the spokes. If the laser scanners cannot recognise the
spokes or the operator decides he/she is dealing with
a rim with a particularly complex shape, enable the
Advanced Spoke Detection function which recognises
any type of spokes, even those with unusual shapes,
for example: paired, oblique, with holes or of different
sizes to one another (
Fig. 5-28
).
Before performing the measuring run:
•
From the FUNCTIONS screen select “Spoke
Detection” then “ADVANCED”.
•
Perform the normal procedures for the run.
Note
: This function increases the time for the total
measuring cycle by 5 seconds.
If the Spokes Count function is active, the screen
shown in the figure is displayed during the measuring
run (
