4.8 De-scaling process
CAUTION
It’s recommended to start the descaling process when the unit is cold. If the
machine is ON, turn it OFF and wait 1 hour to let it cool down.
If during this process the machine is shut down or the power runs out it has to be
repeated from the beginning.
Once this message is appeared the machine continue to work normally until 48
hours pass through. After that, the user will be forced by the machine to run a de-
scaling process.
This process is necessary to clean and de-scale the internal hydraulic circuits of the
machine and preserve the machine from calcification build.
Clean the machine using the de-scaling product provided by HLF Italian Design when
the message
Descaling/Filter appears on the LCD display or when the de-scaling
process is necessary (refer to paragraph 5.3.2 for the setting of this function).
NOTE
For those machines without the internal water tank the message “Descaling/Filter”
means that it is necessary to check the water filter age.
1. Turn off the water line (if present).
2. Open the front door and the top lid. Open the water tank lid.
3. Insert the switch locker on the front door.
4. Enter the CLEANING MENU (see par. 4.3.1 or 4.2.1) and press key n°4 to
perform a De-scaling.
