SERVICE BRAKE (FULL AIR BRAKE)

BR02–78

b.

Rotate the lower brake shoe forward. Install a new brake shoe
return spring with the open end of the spring hooks toward the
camshaft.

c.

Pull each brake shoe away from the camshaft to enable you to
install the camshaft roller and roller retainer. Press the retainer
"ears" to fit into the retainer between the brake shoe webs.

d.

Push the camshaft roller retainer into the brake shoe until the
"ears" lock into the shoe web holes.

e.

Use Meritor specification grease O-617-A or O-617-B to lubricate
the camshaft roller pin and anchor pin.
