Controls
Controls are connected to terminals marked CN1 to CN8.
Each control provides normally open relay contacts rated to 30V, 1A resistive loads.
To drive your floodlight contactors you will need to install external isolation relays. These
relays serve a dual purpose:
They isolate the Illuminator from potentially dangerous 240V circuits
They provide a suitable contact rating for driving the floodlight contactors.
The Illuminator provides voltage free relay contacts. Consequently you will also need a
separate power supply to drive the isolation relay coils.
NOTE: External
protection diodes
must be installed
across all external isolation relay coils
if the coils are driven by
DC
power supplies. A set of protection diodes is provided with each
Illuminator.
The circuit diagram below shows how to interface the Illuminator to the isolation relays.
