SMS Alarms
When a status signal triggers an alarm with SMS sending enabled, an alarm sequence will
start.
Current state of an active alarm is shown on the LCD display and the ALARMS page as a
code. The code has the following meaning:
ALARM

RST
Alarm has been acknowledged, but the trigger source is still
active. Trigger source must go inactive before another alarm
sequence can be started.

without receiving a reset command. No more send attempts
are being made.
Transmitted alarm SMS messages have the following format:
Location: SMS text (Send ‘RST Alx’ to reset)
Where:
“Location” is the programmed Illuminator location
“SMS text” is the programmed SMS text for this particular alarm
“x” is this particular alarm number (1 – 8)
So, if we use the examples programmed in the section “Setting up an Illuminator for the first
time” the first alarm SMS will be sent to 0414111111 and will be:
Wingham Field: I am being vandalised (Send ‘RST AL1’ to reset)
The alarm sequence may be reset simply by replying with the received message (no typing
required !!), or by replying with
RST AL1
or by connecting to the Illuminator with a PC and
resetting the alarm as described in “Resetting Alarms”
NOTE: Alarms will be registered while in the Remote Access mode, but SMS messages will
not be sent until Remote Access mode terminates.
